I imported a whole host of EAGLE parts. Now do I have to set the category in each and every part separately? Seems it creates a folder for every part.

During the Eagle import you can set one category which will be applied to all imported elements. But after the import, or to assign individual categories, each element needs to be opened separately.

_(if you know what you’re doing, it would also be possible to add categories with a search&replace tool directly on the files but I’m not recommending this as one could easily mess it up)_
