Portrait monitor, Dual monitor

Hello… Still using old Eagle, but checking the new version of LibrePCB. As I have dual monitors and both are in portrait position, I really strugle with LibrePCB. Its near impossible to use let say one monitor for pcb and other for schematics. And if I use it on single (portrait) monitor, the projects tree on left uses a lot of space and leaving around 2/3 for window where drawing is and inside that wintow the toolbar again use some space… I can’t find a solution to hide project tree, and can’t find a solution to confortable use dual monitor. Did I miss something or this software works lust with landscape oriented monitor and preferably really wide screen.

Hi,

The project tree can be hidden by clicking on the corresponding button on the sidebar. And allowing to manually resize the sidepanel is planned for upcoming releases. Also to save/restore the state of the sidebar will be implemented in an upcoming release.

It would be great if you can post a screenshot so we can understand the problem better.

well there are screenshoot of single monitor.

… and if sch and pcb should be detachable. Let say often i use laptop with additional monitor. Wish to see schematic on laptop screen and pcb (when routing) on big screen. Have only one workspace with different monitor sizes can’t utilize all display surface, and need to constant adjust where split line is to match monitor boundary.

Thanks for the screenshot. This is the button to close the sidepanel:

Wish to see schematic on laptop screen and pcb (when routing) on big screen.

That is possible. From the menu, choose View → New Window. Then in the documents panel you see the already opened project and you can open the schematic or board on that screen. Using drag&drop for moving tabs between windows is not supported yet for technical reasons, but it is on the ToDo list.

I hope this answers your questions.
