creation of new components

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with working and creating new libraries and components. After watching all the videos, reading all the instructions, I was unable to create a component and connect its schematic and footprint. Nor to import libraries from the web. I was unable to number the pins. I must say that working with libraries seems very chaotic and unclear to me, not when designing, but when sorting them into classes and groups. But maybe it’s just me, because I’m used to working with libraries from other software. Still, I would like to learn with Libre PCB. At the moment I don’t know how to proceed. Is there any detailed instruction on how to create a component? And how to connect the schematic, footprint and 3d model correctly? Please help Lukas

Hi,

It’s hard to help without knowing exactly what the problem is. Generally the Quickstart Tutorial explains everything step-by-step so if you follow it exactly, you should be able to successfully create components. There are no official video tutorials for this task available yet so the written documentation is the only official and accurate description.

But if you still have troubles, please explain what is the problem exactly (possibly with screenshots).
