Making straight traces for components with different pitches

Hi,

I have two components on my board which have pitches that are not even multiples of each other, 0.5 mm and 2.54 mm. This makes it troublesome when I want to create straight traces between them. Since the traces snap to the grid, it will always create traces at a slight angle when connecting the components. Am I missing something or is this unavoidable?

Hi,

Unfortunately the board editor is not very sophisticated yet when connecting pads which are not located on the grid. Snapping only works fine when drawing traces away from pads, not toward pads. Traces with slight angle can only be avoided with a bit “cheating”, e.g. by drawing the trace from both ends to a middle point which is located on the grid.
