Supplying power to the board - for beginners

Hello, I’m very new to electronics and I’m attempting my very-first PCB design. It’s exciting! I’m using LibrePCB.

My first PCB is centered around learning the process. My schematic involves a voltage input, 160ohm resistor, LED, and ground. Very simple. I can draw this schematic without issue. Though when I go to the board editor, I can place the resistor and LED, but I don’t see an obvious way to supply power.

So, my question is about how to supply power to the board. Ideally I want to solder on some wires that supply the power.

I’ve poked around trying to do this and don’t see a way. I have watched this tutorial:

And I’ve searched the internet ad-nausium and I’m not finding the answer.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi,

Just place a connector in the schematic and board  If you really want to solder the wires, use the “soldered wire connector”. But often it is more comfortable to use a real connector which allows you to disconnect the power supply easily, for example with a “Barrel Jack” (available in the “CUI Devices” library.
