Currently, the only indication that an item is locked is the state of the icon in the toolbar. I’m wondering if people would find it beneficial if there were some kind of visual indication in the panel as well. I’m thinking of something like a purple outline (I’m a KiCad user, so I naturally equate purple with “locked” ).
In addition to a persistent visual indicator, I also wonder about having a symbol (like ) pop up over the item if you try to select or drag a locked item. That symbol would only be visible during the attempt to select or drag (i.e., only while the mouse button is held) and would disappear on release.
