LibrePCB Base resistor component

Hi,
The resistor component element within the LibrePCB Base library doesn’t have pad/pin connections (at least in my package) leading to an error when attempting to place the component.
I can see the allocate the pins to the pads in the read only library however (obviously) cannot save it.
How can I rectify this?

Cheers,

Hi,
That is hard to believe. Maybe you created your own resistor device and/or package, and the problem is there?

Anyway, please post the exact error message and/or screenshots about the problem.

Thanks for the prompt response.
Haven’t created any resistor library, however being new to the package I won’t say that I haven’t changed something I shouldn’t have…somewhere…

Is it possible that you have a copy of the Resistor component in your “My Library”, where you made some (breaking) changes? At least from your screenshots this would be the most logical explanation.

The library elements in the Base library are all fine, I just checked it.

(and your resistor symbol is clearly not the shape from our libraries, so these are for sure not the original library elements)

I think you made a breaking change to our resistor component. You’ll need to delete that incompatible component from your local library.

I’m not sure as to which symbol you are referring to? The EU vs American schematic symbol (base library) or the foot print ?

This is all I have in My Library

You are on the “Fuse Holders” category. Select “All Elements” and send me a screenshot of the 9 contained elements please (the list, not all the elements).

Also it looks like you have more unofficial libraries installed (your Add Component dialog shows a “TinySine” category, which exists neither in our official libraries nor in your My Library - so there must be other libraries installed). The issue can be in another unofficial library. In any of those libraries there will be a “Resistor” component which is broken.

And any other libraries installed? Can you show the list of installed local libraries in the side panel?

I saved the workspaces and reinstalled from scratch..
So far so good.
Will try it and see how it goes.
Thanks for the assistance.
Cheers,

Alright. A tip to avoid this kind of issue in future: Whenever the following banner appears, do not proceed!

In future versions I will make it impossible/harder to save breaking changes to disk to avoid this kind of problem.
