Hello,
is there any way to show pin name and pin number in schematic?
Like this:
Currently that’s not possible. But it’s on my ToDo list to implement it
The tricky thing is that the pin mapping is stored in the device, but the schematic displays only components. My current idea is to add a dropdown with all boards to the schematic editor, and the selected board is used to determine the device of each components, and the corresponding pin mapping will be shown in the symbols.
Hi, is it now possible to have PIN name and number? I could not find how to do it.
Actually to do this I have to give at the symbol and pin name the physical number of the component and then add a the Name as a text in the symbol near the pin. But it is not a good solution for example if the same component as another package with the pins with another pin number assignment.
Hi @giancarlo64
As soon as you add the component to the board, pad numbers will show up in the schematic. Without placing it in the board, it’s currently not possible to show pad numbers (because pad numbers depend on what package is used in the board).
Hi ubruhin,
sorry to bother you but I can not figure out where to enable it. I have a the following component
and this is the result if I load it in the schematic
Gian Carlo
It’s not in the library editor. Just open the board editor and place your IC2 device. If the schematic still doesn’t show pad numbers, maybe you disabled it in the toolbar:
Did you do that? Show me your board.
Sorry I did not place the component on the board editor
Now it’s ok
It would be nice to have the numbers also without placing the pattern
