Hi all
I am pretty new to editing with this software and it seems that many of the usb connectors show up in the schematic editor but not on the board editor as it says that no device is found in the library
please respond quickly please
thanks,
Harvey
Hi,
The hyperlink in “See details here” should make clear what is the reason and what to do.
Anyway - in the CUI Devices library there’s an USB connector. If that doesn’t help, I could offer GCT “USB4105-GF-A” or EDAC “690-005-299-043” from my personal library.
could you do the latter and provide me with the things you have
OK the USB4105 is now officially available, just install the GCT library in the library manager:
(due to caching, it might take some time until it appears in your library manager)
For the EDAC connector my package/device are very old (originating from LibrePCB 0.1) and not conforming our library conventions at all, thus I can’t add it to our official libraries. It should work fine (IIRC I used it in a design) but maybe you should double-check. To get it, make sure you have a local library created in your workspace and then copy these files into that library (e.g. LibrePCB-Workspace/data/libraries/local/My_Library.lplib/
):
690-005-299-043.zip (5.0 KB)
Btw, sorry for proposing these connectors although you are looking for an A/B connector, I missed that in my first post. But maybe the USB4105 suits your needs anyway as it is for USB 2.0.
Note that both connectors are SMD so maybe a bit difficult to hand-solder if you’re not experienced with that. Also note for the USB4105 there’s a second footprint variant “simpler technology” which might make sense for you to choose.
